OxiClean is a dynamic cleaner that can be used to remove stains from various things around your home. OxiClean comes in a concentrate or liquid form and not only acts as an independent stain remover, but also boosts the effectiveness of your regular laundry detergent when placed in a wash cycle. OxiClean can be used in the following ways.
Laundry Additive: Put OxiClean into every load of laundry. The size of the load will determine how much of the stain remover you use. Add OxiClean and then detergent into the washing machine.
Pre-Treat Laundry: Use OxiClean to pre-treat stains. If you have hard-to-remove stains on your clothes, use OxiClean to get rid of them. Dilute the OxiClean with water and then place the mixture directly on the stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes before you place the item in the wash.
Soak hand-washed items in OxiClean and water. You can let the clothing sit in the solution a maximum of 6 hours before rinsing the garment.
Clean carpets with OxiClean. OxiClean works best on small stains on the carpet and is rarely used to clean an entire carpet. To clean a carpet stain, saturate the area with OxiClean and water. Blot up water with a clean cloth.
Linoleum and shiny surfaces: Wipe down hard surfaces with OxiClean. Rinse the mixture away after wiping the area with a sponge that contains the solution.
Red wine stains are a frightening sight. The dark color of red wine makes stain removal seem impossible. OxiClean is effective at removing red wine stains from carpet. OxiClean works by releasing oxygen that targets the stain. Use OxiClean for an eco-friendly way to clean wine-stained carpet. Clean the stain as soon as the spill happens.
Remove as much of the wet wine as possible. Use a clean, white rag to gently blot at the wine stain. Continue blotting, switching to clean portions of the rag frequently, until no more wine transfers from the carpet to the rag.
Use the scoop enclosed with the container of OxiClean to mix up a batch of cleaning solution. Fill a bowl with 16 oz. warm water. Add one-quarter scoop of OxiClean powder to the water. Stir the mixture with a spoon for a few minutes until the powder has completely dissolved.
Pour the OxiClean mixture directly onto the stained area of the carpet. Use only enough of the mixture to completely saturate the wine stain.
Allow the OxiClean solution to sit on the carpet for five minutes. Blot the wine stain with a clean, white rag to lift the stain from the carpet. Continue blotting, switching to clean portions of the rag frequently, until all of the wine is off of the carpet.
Fill a bowl with clean water. Dip a rag into the bowl and wipe the affected area of the carpet to rinse. Rinse out the rag often. Continue rinsing until no traces of the OxiClean solution appear on the carpet.
Blot the carpet with clean, dry rags to remove the moisture. Vacuum the carpet once it has dried completely.
