Yuk! Something Stinks And It Looks Like You Need A Refridgerator Cleaning
This is not a reflection on your cooking skills whatsoever. There are times when things that get stored in your refrigerator um, take up residence a little longer than they should. Once they overstay their welcome, you start noticing them about the time you can smell them. It’s often far from pretty and downright nasty in many cases. But how do you stay on top of it without having to spend days sorting through labels and tracking ‘best before’ dates on a calendar? The simple answer is to take a harder look at professional refrigerator cleaning services.
Here are a few reasons why you need to improve the refridgerator cleaning in your home:
1 – Carbon Dating Is Not Accurate
There is a reason why most foods in packages contain a ‘best before’ date. While that is often used as a suggestion of when you should use the product up before, it doesn’t mean that food item is going to last forever. Even if it happens to list a ton of chemicals and difficult to pronounce words in the ingredients. When something is past its prime, it will slowly take on a different appearance. Furry stuff should be a signal to you to toss that thing out.
2 – A Clean Refrigerator Is Good For Your Health
Oddly enough, that appliance that may suddenly harbor a disgusting smell also happens to be the same one that keeps you healthy. Here’s how it does that. The temperature of a well-maintained fridge keeps food fresh and edible longer than if you well, stacked everything on the kitchen counter until it started to smell. Many of the foods we eat require refrigeration in order to keep from making us sick through food poisoning and countless other food borne diseases.
3 – Storing Leftovers Means You Are Not Eating Them
Sure, there is nothing wrong with leftovers. Some of our best meals come from combining leftovers from more than one past meal. However, if your refridgerator seems to be collecting leftovers and not reducing the volume any, then your fridge has turned into a storage locker. Always rotate, remove and toss the oldest things sitting in there to make room for other stuff you might actually eat before they start to grow a furry covering.
4 – Science Projects Do Not Belong There
The key behind refridgerator cleaning is to ensure that those forgotten items that have mysteriously been pushed to the back of the shelving are discovered and removed. That is, unless you are conducting an experiment related to how long something has to rot in your fridge before it gets noticed. Don’t let this happen in your kitchen at any cost.

Make Your Bed Or Else! Or Call Us For Bed Making Services While We Clean Your Home For You.
After a long day of work, nothing quite feels better than coming home to a beautiful, clean home after your house cleaning company cleaned your home for you. Finishing the day off with getting into a freshly made bed is just so relaxing and feels so good. Unless, of course, you added mixing a couple of cocktails in there somewhere between kicking off your shoes and jumping into bed. Regardless of how you do it, a nice, neat, clean and perfectly made bed is a welcoming sight. But in order to have your bed made and ready for when you need it, someone has to do the work.
If your children have bed making as an entry on their chore list, then you are one of the lucky ones. What do you do if you don’t have access to that kind of child labour? Well, you could make it yourself or just call us at Executive Maids. Just for fun, let us go over the multiple steps required to properly make a bed. You guessed it, there is actually a bit of a science to making a bed. We’ve made so many of them, we have discovered some great shortcuts and share them here with you.
Shortcut 1 – Corners
Yup, each and every bed ever made can tell you a lot about the way they were made just by looking at the corners. Hospital or military corners are a quick fix that gives a bed a neat and tidy look. All you do is tuck a fitted sheet under the bottom of the mattress which secures it in place.
Shortcut 2 – Pillows
If you’ve ever tried to jam a pillow into a pillowcase you know this it is never an easy task. The cheat here is to give the pillow a karate chop lengthwise and fold it in half at one end. With the corners held together you can easily slide the pillowcase on. When you let go of the corners, fluff or gently shake the covered pillow to completely fill out the pillowcase.
Shortcut 3 – Sheets
Bed making is never complete without sheets. But this shortcut involves removing them from the dryer before they are completely dry. The reason for this is that the damp sheet is easier to stretch into place when making your bed. The secondary tip here is to carry out this action in the morning to allow the sheets to completely dry before you hop into your bed at night.
Shortcut 4 – Pillows (Again)
Nothing gives your bed a better look than decorating it with accent pillows. However, you can’t just toss them at the bed hoping the pillows will figure out what you had in mind. By layering the pillows, you will create an attractive visual that is a welcoming sight for a sore body.

Before we go any further on this, let’s just get something out in the open right away. If you happen to own something called a ‘self-cleaning’ oven, take a really, really good look at the type of clean you are getting from that supposedly special feature. Trust us, your oven will be in need of a good old-fashioned scrubbing sooner or later – even if it is a self-cleaning style.
Oven cleaning is not fun. Regardless of how you plan or execute the plan. But at Executive Maids, we’re experts at cleaning ovens. It’s true and here are a few tips on how to give your oven the best cleaning it has ever experienced.
Step 1 – Materials
You can’t clean anything if you don’t have the proper gear to get the job done. Your list of materials required to clean your oven is not extensive. There’s really just six items on it. They include water, a spray bottle, baking soda, vinegar, a rag and a small bowl. Intrigued, yet?
Step 2 – Prep The Work Site
You can’t get anything done if your oven looks like a disaster zone. So, with this in mind, remove the oven racks and soak ’em in a large trash bag with hot water and vinegar. Tie it closed and let sit in your bath tub overnight. Clear a space around the oven so you can easily move around and not bump into anything or anyone.
Step 3 – Mix Your Solution
All you will need is a couple of spoonfuls of baking soda with some water. Mix into a paste in the bowl as pastes are fun and they are also easy to spread on surfaces.
Step 4 – Spread ‘Em!
Cover the inside of the oven with the paste you just finished making and snapping a selfie with. It is going to turn brown on you and that will tell you it is working. Let the goop-covered oven sit overnight, or at least twelve hours.
Step 5 – The Oven Cleaning Part
After at least twelve hours have passed and you’ve come to realize that your kitchen functions far better when the oven operational, get a firm grip on a wet rag. Use it to carefully remove as much of the brown goop as possible from the inside of the oven.
Step 6 – The Final Touches
With your spray bottle, add some vinegar and spritz the spots inside the oven where the goop still appears. Give those areas a wipe with the wet rag.
Step 7 – The End
Put the racks back inside the oven and turn it on to a very low temperature for about 15-minutes. This will speed up the drying process.

How hard can cleaning windows be, right? You splash on some soapy water, wipe ’em down and voila! Clean windows. Well, in a perfect world, that would be about all you’d have to do but there is a bit more to window cleaning than that. In fact, you could quite easily clean them incorrectly which would result in streaks, marks and windows that required another cleaning. So, to save you the time and effort in doing them twice, here are our tips on how to properly clean windows.
1 – Pick The Right Day To Clean Your Windows
You may think that the best day to clean windows is the day when you are not hung over or there’s no company over or you just happen to be a bit perkier than normal. Well, that may be a good start for you, but the best days to clean windows are those that are overcast and cloudy. Here’s why: when you clean windows on a hot, sunny day, the cleaning solution will often dry before you get a chance to wipe it over the glass surface. This creates streaks and reasons to just punch your fist through that window and calling it a day.
2 – Always Frame Your Work Properly
We used a photography term there to see if you are paying attention. Before you get to the windows, always wipe the sills and sashes first. Doing this after cleaning the windows will cause drip marks and cause you to consider smashing the window with your bucket. While that may feel good at the moment, it creates a different type of mess requiring clean up.
3 – Don’t Be Stingy On Cleaning Goop
It doesn’t matter if you use soapy water or some scientific formula to clean the windows. What matters is that you use enough of it to get the job done. If you only use an amount that you think you require for each window, be sure to at least double that to do the job right. So go ahead a slosh it on!
4 – A Microfibre Cloth Is Your Friend
Provided you are not using it to blow your nose, a microfibre cloth is the best tool for drying windows without leaving much of a mess behind. If you prefer using paper towel or newspaper, go for it. Just be prepared to spend a little more time cleaning up the little bits of paper towel and newsprint that will be left behind as both disintegrate from use.

Forgotten spaces to clean
There are so many spaces in our homes that we simply forget to clean. It’s not from laziness or procrastination but sheer forgetfulness. When you deep clean your house, scrub and mop the floors, clean out the fridge and shampoo the rugs, there are still many things you may forget to clean. If you use a maid service in Lafayette Hill to help with the heavy cleaning, make sure they know about the following forgotten spaces. Keep in mind, however, that not all cleaning companies will tackle all of these cleanings so be sure to hire a reliable professional company to do the work for you.
Cleaning Windows Inside and Out
Even though windows are often the focal point of your home, we can forget to give them the good cleaning they deserve. Cleaning the glass is an obvious chore but opening them up and cleaning the outside, windowsill and even the frame need to be cleaned from time to time as well. Your cleaning company most likely knows to clean these areas when they do a deep cleaning in your home.
Your refrigerator and air conditioner coils are definitely something you probably don’t think about. These appliances create a cooling effect by circulating air through the coils. Over time, dust builds up on the coils and decreases your appliance’s efficiency. This makes them work a lot harder. You can do this yourself by unplugging the appliance, then vacuum out the coils. Your vacuum should have a special tool for these kinds of cleanings.
One of the most overlooked areas in our homes is the ceiling. More specifically, the ceiling fans. Cleaning ceiling fan blades to remove dust build up. The blades send air straight down, which creates a cooling effect. If there is dust build up on them they not only won’t cool effectively but they will disburse the dust around the house. Most cleaning services will offer this cleaning in their deep cleaning service.
Cleaning your dryer vent is easier than you think. Unplug your dryer from its power source. Clean out the vent with dryer-vent cleaning brush or a vacuum. For added security, have your vent ducts cleaned by a professional and make sure they are properly installed.
Don’t forget the outside
It is important that your roof, gutters, and chimneys are all in working order as well as the inside of your home. Check your roof for damage that may have occurred over the winter. If you think there may be some damage, call a professional roofer. You can clean your gutters out yourself but if you don’t have the time or are not able to climb a ladder, get a pro in to help with that also. Chimneys should be cleaned out yearly if you use them during the winter months.
All of these tasks can be handled by having your professional cleaning company or another professional that is qualified to handle the project. When looking for a maid service in Lafayette Hill to help with these forgotten spaces, look up Executive Maids for deep cleaning services.
Let Executive Maids help deep clean your home.
